Today is 'Earth Day' people all around the world are celebrating our planet and looking at ways to protect it. Tomorrow, Monday in y3/4 we will be taking part in a litter pick up around our school and local area and thinking about plastic pollution and the damaging effect it is having on our environment.
Look out for photos next week in our blog!
This week in Y3/4 we are revisiting a unit of maths work on time. Your children are working hard to learn to tell the time. We hope now that most children can tell the time - o'clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past. We are working hard to tell the time to the nearest 5 minute interval, eg 5 past one, 25 to 11. We've even made our own clock to help us!
We are continuing our topic on Mountains for two more weeks so that we can complete all our projects. In week three we will start a project on Space, this will will carry on until the end of the summer 1 term.
Our new reading challenge has began, children will be rewarded with certificates for reading lots at home. Please help your child gain the first certificate by reading with them every night. Don't forget to write in your child's reading record each time you read together.
On Thursday we will be celebrating 'World Book Day' - we thought it would be lovely to share our favourite books. Please can all children come to school with their favourite book - it doesn't have to be a story book, it might be an information book. Your teachers will be joining in too!
Last week all year three and four children had a great day at the climbing works on Little London Road. We looked at the mountaineering equipment that would be needed to climb in extreme conditions. All the children had a climbing lesson and enjoyed bouldering.
