Last week, 6 children from Year 5 and 6 had the exciting opportunity to attend a prestigious writing event with the rap poet, Donavan Christopher.

The ‘Rapperman’ shared an interactive and fun workshop, teaching our budding young writers all about the structure of poetry and rap in particular.

Donavan encouraged the children to think about their own views and opinions about important social issues, such as respect for themselves and others, tolerance, cultural diversity and bullying.

Jack stated that he loved how the Rapperman taught us how to structure a poem and how the rhyming pattern makes such a difference, especially in a rap.

Our children created a great Rap which they had to share in front of all the other students from the other attending schools. And they would like to share it with you!

Then he says stick out from the crowd.

We now have 6 great rappers in school who I am sure would love to share their talents with others.
